NEOM is set to be the first entirely capitalist city in the world. The name “Neom” is a portmanteau. The first three letters are the Ancient Greek prefix neo meaning “new”. The fourth letter, M, is the first letter of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s name. Salman’s vision for the city incorporates some technologies that do not currently exist, such as flying cars, robot maids, dinosaur robots, and a giant artificial moon.
