It would not make sense for the duopoly to have UK Freeports and SEZs on the same legal standing as those in the EU regarding State Aid rules, the UK Govt’s deregulatory goals are the complete opposite of publicly owned ports and SEZs in the EU, ‘exit’ strategies (Brexit) means dismantling the regulatory burden to entrench corporate governance across 86 small states in the UK.
