January 2024, the Govt published its REUL (Retained EU law) report, one of the first items it mentions is ‘EU ports are publicly owned and unsuitable for the UK economy’ 31st Dec 2023 +600 pieces of EU/UK law were revoked, the 3 main areas were employment rights, food safety, and environmental protections, the document goes on to say that 1000’s more laws will be scrapped by 2026.
