Not extinguished no 2026

Not extinguished no 2026 – 21 x 29,7cm, acrylic on paper

Between the lines, the flowers persist. Small, scattered, some barely legible, existing in the gaps that the lines couldn’t close. Not triumphant, persistence isn’t triumph, it’s just the refusal to stop. The refusal that doesn’t announce itself, doesn’t organise itself into a position, simply continues in the available space because continuing is what it does.

Not extinguished. No.

The shortest Beckett sentence is also the most complete argument.

You would need more lines. You would always need more lines.
