A few images on and off 2026

A few images on and off 2026 – 50 x 40cm, acrylic, spray paint on canvas

The intermittent quality of perception itself, images that arrive and recede without sustained presence, consciousness flickering between the on and the off. The tree holds them while they last.

The series’ recurring globes, the lights left on for whoever might respond, the lamps of vigil and signal and domestic persistence, have migrated from ledges and stands into the tree itself. The tree has become the structure that carries them, the organic form that holds the light vocabulary of thirteen years of painting in its bare branches simultaneously. It is a lamp. It is a tree. The distinction, at night, in the interval, is not the point.

Along the upper edge, dark impasto accumulates, the geological matter of the extraction paintings becoming the horizon itself, the ground and the sky sharing the same material at the canvas’s upper limit.

A few images. On and off. The tree holds them while they last.
